Packs of Hope – A H.E.L.P Project
The recently established Orphan Care Team of FBCE is providing a wonderful ministry opportunity for our congregation by partnering with Packs of Hope, a Colorado based ministry. Packs of Hope provides dignity to children who are transitioning from home to home in the foster care system. Instead of a dirty trash bag that holds their belongings, children can receive a new backpack filled with new clothes and other items, making their trip to a new hope a little bit brighter.
You can begin to "check out" a backpack beginning July 25th next to the welcome center at the church. When you ...

I want to recommend a great family/children’s book called “Mighty Acts of God.” This book is designed for families with children four to ten years of age. What I like about this book is that it focuses on the doctrine of God, focusing on the attributes of God as seen in a chronological look at the Bible. Many children’s books drive home character and moral values from individual people in the Bible. There is certainly a place for that kind of reading and teaching. This book focuses on ninety stories from the Bible that dwell on how God relates to the story. It emphasizes the great truth that the Bible is not ultimately about David, Moses, or Paul. It is about God. The book is written (not heavily) from a Reformed perspective, simply meaning in this context that God’s bigness and hugeness is going to come through in every story; that He is sovereign over everything that happens in the Bible and in our lives today.
So give it a look.

Below you can find the PDF version of the Student Discipleship Packet that our teenagers are working through. Students are memorizing each item of the packet in order to better apply Scripture and “hide Your word in my heart that I might not sin against you” (Psalm 119:11).
Parents, the instructions and further explanation for the need of this packet are included in the packet itself on the first couple of pages. Help and encourage your student to memorize the items. A great idea is to commit to your child that you will memorize each item right alongside them. I am of course here to answer any questions you might have.
Here is a video telling the resurrection story using the artwork fromThe Jesus Storybook Bible: Every Story Whispers His Name. This children’s Bible is my favorite because it makes certain than even the telling of famous OT stories to children points forward to Jesus. If you have children, then purchase this children’s Bible.
The video below is an excellent video to watch with your children for family worship one night before Easter.
You can download and read the Holy Week Devotional Guide by clicking the link below. You may also come by the church office for a hard copy in booklet form. I encourage you to make sure you are spending time week in family worship and this provides an excellent tool for those opportunities with your family.
